Bishop Anthony B. Rodgers, Sr.

Bishop Anthony B. Rodgers, Sr. was licensed into the Gospel Ministry on May 21, 1995 at the New Oak Grove Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Subsequently, he was ordained in the ministry, January 24, 1995 and was called and installed as Pastor at First Baptist Church Crestwood, Chesapeake, Virginia on February 6, 1999.

Bishop Rodgers, a native of Chesapeake, VA, celebrates 33 years of marriage to Darlene Mason-Rodgers. They are blessed with two daughters, one son, two granddaughters and one grandson.

Bishop Rodgers, after graduating from Holy Family High School in Birmingham, Alabama, attended Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He obtained an Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronics from Tidewater Community College. He received extensive training in Theology/Religion and Philosophy; and obtained his Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies, a Master of Divinity Degree, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Norfolk Seminary and College. Presently, he is the Dean of Tabernacle Bible College, Chesapeake Campus. He also holds a Diploma in Prison Fellowship, and is a member of the Joint College of African American Pentecostal Bishop’s Congress.

Bishop Rodgers’ leadership endeavors include an appointment as Overseer and Presbytery of The Resurrection Kingdom Fellowship of Churches in Wilmington, Delaware, under the leadership of Bishop S. Todd Townsend, Sr. He was elevated to Bishop designate on February 8, 2008. Bishop Rodgers was Consecrated and Ordinated Bishop and Chief Presbyter on September 15, 2012.

Bishop Rodgers’ community organization leadership positions include the Inter-faith Network of Norfolk State University, Chesapeake’s United House of Blessings Coalition, with the City of Chesapeake’s Human/Social Services program “Let’s Protect our Children,” Partnership with “Serve The City” with Chesapeake’s 5th precinct Police Department, as a Volunteer at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center as Chaplain, in Pastoral Care Ministry, and, with Senior Services of Virginia, to assist and train our Senior Citizens within the community. He also volunteered as an American Red Cross Instructor for over fourteen years.

Bishop Rodgers instituted the following programs: HIV and Aid’s, Domestic Violence for Women, by partnering with The Garden of Hope LLC, Drug Awareness, and Feed the Homeless. He instituted the following ministries: Prison, Young Adult, Drama, Praise and Worship, and Children’s Church. Bishop Rodgers is a proficient counselor, with several years of experience in family, marriage, and teen counseling.

Bishop Rodgers incorporated the Restoration of Hope LLC., The Seed of Life Changing Ministries, and The Oil of God’s Kingdom Fellowship of Churches, all in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Bishop Rodgers retired from both the United States Navy Reserve after 22 years, on September 1, 1994, and from the United States Federal Government as an Engineering Technician after thirty-five years, on March 3, 2008.
